Twin Peaks Walk
Climb Australia’s two highest peaks in a day with the Kosciuszko Twin Peaks Walk. You’ll take in the majestic views of the alpine area and into the Victorian High Country. First, you conquer Mt Kosciuszko, Australia’s highest mountain and then head out to, what some say is the better looking, Mt Townsend. From the top, you look down onto glacial lakes and the dramatic western faces of the Main Range. The walk meanders through remote ridges and jumbled granite boulders. This fully guided, 22km, all day walk starts and finishes in Thredbo. This walk truly represents what the Australian Alps is all about.
Please note: The Twin Peaks Walk is a strenuous remote walk with varied and rocky terrain. This walk is not suitable for walkers of a low fitness level.
Mount Kosciuszko Summit Walk
Tick Kozzie off your bucket list – this is a must do when in the mountains.
Hike to the highest peak in Australia – take in the views that sweep from the Victorian Alps right across the Kosciuszko Main Range all while standing on the highest point in the land.
On guided walks, your local Thredbo guide will take you on a journey to the summit of Mt Kosciuszko, 2228m above sea level. Along the way, you’ll capture the stunning characteristics of the unique alpine area including wildflowers, wildlife, giant rock formations and waterways.
Dead Horse Gap Walk
This is one of the best walks in the area, it’s mostly downhill and the views are spectacular.
From the top of the Kosciuszko Express Chairlift, you descend just over 300 vertical metres to Dead Horse Gap. There is an abundance of wildflowers and the twisted Snowgums are incredible. Once at Dead Horse Gap you make your way back to Thredbo along the beautiful Thredbo River.
Kids Night Adventure
Thredbo’s unique Kids Club programs have been developed with guidance from professional childcare workers. With a focus on the sorts of can’t-wait-to-tell-my-friends-back-home type activities, you won’t find anywhere else. Thredbo also limits the number of children in each Session to ensure everyone receives an even higher level of care and attention.
