There’s something for everyone these school holidays, with a mountain of terrain to explore, a huge line up of free activities and plenty of après for Mum and Dad. The Kids Snow Festival is a favourite for kids of all ages with movie and pizza nights, special kids flare run, night skiing, loads of activities on and off the mountain plus lots more.

5th – 6th October
Pull out your lederhosen and Dirndl to send off the winter season with music, games, drinking and feasting at Australia’s highest Oktoberfest!
With German Biers, an array of tantalizing German delights and music by the Venus Trio, come and celebrate the end of winter and the start of Oktober at Poolside.
When the snow starts to melt, the sun comes out and it’s the perfect time to throw on boardies and come up to the Thredbo Pond Skim. Nothing beats a season ender party in the pond!

Cheer on Australia’s most famous horse race in style on Melbourne Cup Day at Cascades Restaurant. Fashion, food and entertainment will be sharing the spotlight with a full afternoon of festivities planned.
From 12 PM Cascades Restaurant will be treating their guests to a three course lunch complete with a three hour beverage package. Dress sharp and don your most impressive hat or fascinator in a bid to take out the prize for best dressed girl, guy and headwear. A raffle and a sweepstakes will keep the fun going with live entertainment as a backdrop to all the pre-race excitement. At 2.30 PM the race lead up will be screened before the big event captures the nation’s attention at 3 PM. On top of this your amazing hosts for the afternoon will be none other than locals Sandy and Stav!

Dust off your bike park weapon of choice, grab your mates and hit the Thredbo Mountain Bike Park for first laps of the season. The trail crew will have spruced up the expanding trail network with perfectly sculpted berms and classic Thredbo flow to be found on the Kosciuszko Flow Trail and lower All-Mountain whilst the hard-core gravity junkies will be having a blast on the Cannonball Downhills new booters and old school technical sections. The entire Cross Country network will also be open with a free Thredbo Valley Trail shuttle bus running. See you up here!
4th – 8th December
Australia’s biggest gravity inspired mountain bike festival returns in 2019 setting the standard for mountain bike competition with a huge line-up of supreme events and non-stop entertainment all weekend long. Catering for amateurs, rising stars & World Champions of all ages, Cannonball will see the mountain bike world hit Thredbo for 5 days of gravity fuelled mountain biking and their chance to take home a share of the massive $100k in cash & prizes on offer, solidifying itself as the richest Australian mountain bike event in history.
Five mammoth events will appeal to riders from not only the nation but from around the globe with a number of the world’s best racers already confirmed to be attending. The line-up of crowd pleasing events include the Rockshox Pump Track Challenge on Thredbo’s Village Green, the Deity Whip Wars Big Air held on a purpose built kicker, the leg burning Osprey All-Mountain Assault, the massive Maxxis Flow Motion Cup and the rough & raw Australian Open Downhill!
The action doesn’t limit itself to the race tracks with the famous Thredbo night life coming to life with an impressive line-up of entertainment all weekend thanks to Australia’s best DJ’s spinning tracks till late!
Join us at the Thredbo Alpine Hotel on the 24th of December for the free annual Christmas Eve Carols.
From 6pm Thredbo will be filled with the sound of Christmas carols as the local community turns out for Christmas songs and cheer. Pick up a carol book by gold coin donation (all proceeds go to the Thredbo Early Childhood Centre). Keep a lookout for Santa Claus, he will be dropping by during the evening with presents to say hi!
To top it all off the outdoor heated spas, bar and a delicious fundraiser BBQ will also be open.

31st December – 1st January
The famous Thredbo New Year’s Party is a great way to welcome 2020! Thredbo will be the place to be with a big party and entertainment for all ages. The kids will warm up the Thredbo Alpine Hotel from 5pm with a kids show and dance, the music will be pumping and the glow sticks will be out. Then from 9pm 19-twenty will be pumping the tunes until 12.30am!
17th – 19th January
The Thredbo Blues Festival is bursting with talent in 2020 for its 26th year with another amazing program of exceptional Australian and International blues players getting up close and personal in a music festival like no other. With intimate bars and restaurants, spectacular outdoor venues and the whole of Thredbo Village given over to the blues, Thredbo sets the stage for an atmosphere that musicians and blues fans love.
Over 20 amazing Australian and International Blues artists are taking over Thredbo for 3 huge days and nights of non-stop blues and good times with close to 60 performances!

The 2020 Australian MTB Interschools gives school students that special chance to experience mountain biking and the enthusiasm and energy of this rapidly growing sport in a competitive, educational and supportive atmosphere. The primary aim is to promote participation and evoke interest in competitive biking in the younger generation. Over the four days we will see the future stars of the sport battle it out over an array of disciplines including Cross Country, Downhill, Flow, Pump Track & an exciting XC Team Relay.
